Spes Nova started with an incredible first sale this semester at the Fordham v. Lafayette football game on the October 5th Family Weekend. We are thrilled to announce that this was the best sale we have had at Spes Nova Fordham! We have many new club members who helped make this sale the most profitable since Spes Nova’s founding at Fordham! Due to the many family visitors at Family Weekend this year, we were able to sell lots of our awesome Fordham merch, especially our knitted Fordham sweaters handmade by Fundacion Levantate Mujer, a women’s artisan group from Bolivia who work to educate women and empower them to escape situations of domestic violence. In addition to the maroon and white knit sweaters, this artisan group also makes mittens, hats, and scarves with the Fordham ‘F’ that are also best-sellers! We also connected with our community at the Women’s Basketball Opener on November 4th!
Through these sales events, our team was able to share Spes Nova’s mission with so much of Fordham’s wider community, which helps us continue to empower our talented artisans worldwide through microfinancing, ensuring recognition and support for their diverse skills. To help us in this mission, please be on the lookout for information about our next sales event on November 21st and follow our Instagram (@Spes_Nova)! Don’t worry if you can’t make it to a sales event; all of our knitwear and other products are also available for order on our website spesnova.org, and for pick-up on campus. Please email us with any questions about our products, and our team will be happy to help you!
Thanks to all of those who supported us at our October and early November sales! We hope you love your purchases, and we can’t wait to see you at the Gabelli Dean’s Council’s Holiday Market on November 21st!
